Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.28%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.42%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 4.87% or 2.80 points to trade at 60.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Atos SE (PA:ATOS) added 3.95% or 2.44 points to end at 64.26 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 3.73% or 1.23 points to 34.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which fell 0.67% or 0.10 points to trade at 14.72 at the close. Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) declined 0.69% or 0.54 points to end at 78.18 and Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) was down 0.63% or 0.29 points to 45.77.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 8.60% to 24.750, Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was up 8.31% to settle at 5.80 and Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which gained 7.68% to close at 17.80.
The worst performers were Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which was down 8.15% to 62.00 in late trade, Albioma SA (PA:ABIO) which lost 1.94% to settle at 42.95 and Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (PA:GTT) which was down 1.70% to 78.25 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 407 to 179 and 75 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.22% or 4.00 to $1851.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.36% or 0.19 to hit $52.58 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.05 to trade at $55.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.2168, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8855.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 90.127.
