Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.22%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.32%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which rose 3.38% or 0.69 points to trade at 21.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) added 3.25% or 0.69 points to end at 22.07 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 3.23% or 0.320 points to 10.230 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Total SA (PA:TOTF), which fell 0.15% or 0.07 points to trade at 43.23 at the close. Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) added 0.03% or 0.20 points to end at 605.80 and Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) was up 0.32% or 0.32 points to 99.98.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which rose 6.85% to 14.500, Neopost SA (PA:NPOS) which was up 4.72% to settle at 17.09 and Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which gained 4.54% to close at 38.92.
The worst performers were GTT (PA:GTT) which was down 0.43% to 80.85 in late trade, Total SA (PA:TOTF) which lost 0.15% to settle at 43.23 and Coface (PA:COFA) which was unchanged 0.00% to 10.57 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 404 to 141 and 95 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 10.16% to 19.66.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 7.80 to $1523.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.37% or 0.20 to hit $54.67 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.60% or 0.35 to trade at $58.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1094, while EUR/GBP fell 0.67% to 0.9126.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 98.037.
