Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.11%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which rose 3.74% or 14.05 points to trade at 389.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) added 2.95% or 3.10 points to end at 108.18 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 2.46% or 3.00 points to 125.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which fell 1.23% or 0.20 points to trade at 16.09 at the close. Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) declined 1.22% or 0.49 points to end at 39.75 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was down 1.18% or 1.05 points to 87.65.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) which rose 3.74% to 389.65, Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) which was up 2.95% to settle at 108.18 and ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which gained 2.80% to close at 12.48.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 16.30% to 3.06 in late trade, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which lost 2.15% to settle at 10.90 and Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was down 1.93% to 13.94 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 294 to 264 and 79 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.67% or 12.65 to $1,861.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.09% or 0.87 to hit $80.59 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.53 to trade at $86.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 103.24.
