Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.04%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (EPA:SAF), which rose 4.85% or 4.72 points to trade at 102.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 3.91% or 3.65 points to end at 96.90 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was up 3.91% or 0.67 points to 17.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which fell 2.54% or 4.55 points to trade at 174.55 at the close. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 2.51% or 8.25 points to end at 320.35 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was down 2.30% or 29.50 points to 1,254.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which rose 8.55% to 1.88, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was up 5.96% to settle at 1.39 and Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which gained 5.71% to close at 12.03.
The worst performers were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which was down 2.54% to 174.55 in late trade, L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) which lost 2.51% to settle at 320.35 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) which was down 2.30% to 1,254.50 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 316 to 226 and 82 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.31% or 5.15 to $1,672.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.12% or 1.85 to hit $89.12 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.11% or 1.95 to trade at $94.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.73% to 0.98, while EUR/GBP fell 1.30% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 112.36.
