Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.98%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.98%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE), which rose 3.16% or 0.85 points to trade at 27.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (PA:RENA) added 2.83% or 0.82 points to end at 30.02 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 2.65% or 0.31 points to 11.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI), which fell 1.43% or 1.78 points to trade at 122.84 at the close. Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) declined 0.38% or 0.23 points to end at 60.80 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) was down 0.28% or 0.17 points to 59.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) which rose 9.83% to 182.10, Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which was up 8.39% to settle at 23.26 and Faurecia (PA:EPED) which gained 6.69% to close at 40.37.
The worst performers were JC Decaux SA (PA:JCDX) which was down 2.80% to 21.56 in late trade, Aeroports de Paris SA (PA:ADP) which lost 1.77% to settle at 105.15 and Orpea SA (PA:ORP) which was down 1.55% to 101.60 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 390 to 227 and 72 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.51% or 26.85 to $1751.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.56% or 1.13 to hit $73.36 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.27% or 0.97 to trade at $77.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1734, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.8537.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 93.085.
