Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.93%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.84%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 4.12% or 1.41 points to trade at 35.63 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 4.12% or 0.72 points to end at 18.30 and Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) was up 3.30% or 5.05 points to 158.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 1.95% or 3.30 points to trade at 165.85 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 1.47% or 1.06 points to end at 70.84 and Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) was down 1.12% or 3.10 points to 273.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Coface (PA:COFA) which rose 8.55% to 8.51, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was up 6.10% to settle at 26.700 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) which gained 4.12% to close at 35.63.
The worst performers were Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was down 10.42% to 5.25 in late trade, Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which lost 4.17% to settle at 20.70 and Carmila SA (PA:CARM) which was down 2.45% to 11.16 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 320 to 282 and 56 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.68% or 12.50 to $1861.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $52.77 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $55.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.2123, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8836.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 90.513.
