Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.90% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (PA:STLA), which rose 3.81% or 0.64 points to trade at 17.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) added 3.36% or 3.78 points to end at 116.14 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 2.85% or 0.87 points to 31.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 2.85% or 1.49 points to trade at 50.82 at the close. Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) declined 1.88% or 2.04 points to end at 106.76 and Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) was down 0.93% or 2.00 points to 213.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ovh Groupe SAS (PA:OVH) which rose 8.64% to 27.59, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was up 7.50% to settle at 9.460 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which gained 7.07% to close at 0.681.
The worst performers were Valneva (PA:VLS) which was down 5.63% to 23.120 in late trade, Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which lost 3.69% to settle at 6.13 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) which was down 2.85% to 50.82 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 403 to 183 and 82 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ovh Groupe SAS (PA:OVH) rose to all time highs; up 8.64% or 2.19 to 27.59.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.58% or 28.95 to $1799.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.49% or 1.12 to hit $76.33 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.81% or 1.41 to trade at $79.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.1285, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8377.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.74% at 96.300.
