Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.85%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which rose 3.78% or 3.77 points to trade at 103.56 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 3.48% or 0.93 points to end at 27.69 and EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) was up 2.88% or 4.26 points to 152.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 1.85% or 0.42 points to trade at 22.30 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) declined 0.64% or 1.15 points to end at 177.55 and Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) was down 0.64% or 0.54 points to 83.47.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) which rose 7.68% to 28.45, Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which was up 7.20% to settle at 148.80 and Spie SA (PA:SPIE) which gained 6.46% to close at 20.60.
The worst performers were Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was down 2.50% to 42.49 in late trade, Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which lost 2.10% to settle at 130.40 and Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which was down 1.97% to 14.66 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 423 to 153 and 74 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.48% or 9.65 to $1,990.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.56% or 2.71 to hit $108.73 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.98% or 2.16 to trade at $111.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 99.06.
