Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.83%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.27%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 3.10% or 1.38 points to trade at 45.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 2.48% or 0.57 points to end at 23.53 and Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) was up 2.26% or 0.30 points to 13.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which fell 0.31% or 0.60 points to trade at 191.50 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) declined 0.31% or 0.24 points to end at 76.18 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) was down 0.31% or 0.40 points to 130.65.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 7.80% to 1.98, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was up 4.01% to settle at 9.34 and Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which gained 3.85% to close at 105.10.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 9.98% to 0.76 in late trade, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which lost 2.43% to settle at 34.52 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 1.51% to 104.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 298 to 193 and 94 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to all time lows; falling 9.98% or 0.09 to 0.76.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.15% or 3.65 to $2,365.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $83.92 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.14 to trade at $87.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 104.81.
