Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.81%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 3.04% or 2.05 points to trade at 69.47 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 3.03% or 0.74 points to end at 25.34 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) was up 2.82% or 3.04 points to 110.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which fell 1.21% or 0.14 points to trade at 11.09 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) declined 1.05% or 0.46 points to end at 43.17 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) was down 0.99% or 0.40 points to 40.01.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) which rose 4.28% to 10.84, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was up 3.80% to settle at 6.39 and Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which gained 3.68% to close at 338.00.
The worst performers were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 3.67% to 8.46 in late trade, Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which lost 3.03% to settle at 101.60 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 2.89% to 54.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 360 to 229 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atos SE (PA:ATOS) fell to 5-year lows; down 0.99% or 0.40 to 40.01. Shares in Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.68% or 12.00 to 338.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.10% or 1.85 to $1807.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.28% or 0.85 to hit $67.20 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.24% or 0.85 to trade at $69.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1776, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8649.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 93.058.
