Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.80% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (PA:SAF), which rose 4.36% or 4.70 points to trade at 112.46 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 3.13% or 0.89 points to end at 29.32 and AXA SA (PA:AXAF) was up 2.19% or 0.52 points to 24.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orange SA (PA:ORAN), which fell 1.68% or 0.16 points to trade at 9.44 at the close. Worldline SA (PA:WLN) declined 1.62% or 1.08 points to end at 65.42 and Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) was down 1.33% or 0.15 points to 11.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which rose 24.58% to 20.68, Valneva (PA:VLS) which was up 13.05% to settle at 22.440 and Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which gained 5.12% to close at 6.67.
The worst performers were Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which was down 9.53% to 75.45 in late trade, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which lost 3.64% to settle at 8.69 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 2.67% to 45.19 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 325 to 270 and 103 ended unchanged.
Shares in AXA SA (PA:AXAF) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.19% or 0.52 to 24.45. Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.67% or 1.24 to 45.19.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.88% or 15.85 to $1790.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.05% or 0.88 to hit $84.64 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.42 to trade at $85.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1589, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.8417.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 93.987.
