Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.75%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which rose 3.58% or 1.27 points to trade at 36.79 at the close. Meanwhile, Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) added 3.05% or 3.88 points to end at 131.20 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) was up 2.59% or 0.82 points to 32.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which fell 1.80% or 0.34 points to trade at 18.29 at the close. Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) declined 1.23% or 1.18 points to end at 94.43 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was down 1.07% or 1.03 points to 95.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 17.10% to 12.02, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was up 7.43% to settle at 111.30 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which gained 4.56% to close at 12.84.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 5.13% to 12.39 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which lost 4.51% to settle at 1.30 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 2.43% to 3.94 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 333 to 197 and 91 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to 5-year lows; falling 5.13% or 0.67 to 12.39.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.13% or 2.40 to $1,838.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.37% or 1.48 to hit $109.47 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.67 to trade at $114.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.18.
