Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.75% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP), which rose 2.23% or 3.60 points to trade at 165.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Atos SE (PA:ATOS) added 2.11% or 1.58 points to end at 76.48 and Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) was up 2.10% or 1.90 points to 92.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 2.74% or 3.65 points to trade at 129.60 at the close. Total SA (PA:TOTF) declined 0.96% or 0.47 points to end at 49.12 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was down 0.95% or 0.17 points to 17.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which rose 9.34% to 16.850, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was up 3.67% to settle at 72.380 and Eiffage SA (PA:FOUG) which gained 3.17% to close at 91.00.
The worst performers were Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which was down 3.68% to 26.18 in late trade, Faurecia (PA:EPED) which lost 2.93% to settle at 38.45 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was down 2.74% to 129.60 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 333 to 232 and 91 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.23% or 3.60 to 165.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 5.66% to 12.16.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.82% or 11.55 to $1419.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.84% or 0.47 to hit $56.72 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.33% or 0.83 to trade at $63.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1282, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8972.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.330.
