Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.74%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 3.38% or 2.08 points to trade at 63.67 at the close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) added 3.26% or 1.96 points to end at 62.06 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 3.15% or 1.02 points to 33.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF), which fell 1.66% or 5.50 points to trade at 325.70 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) declined 1.22% or 2.35 points to end at 190.65 and Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) was down 1.17% or 1.03 points to 86.95.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 8.16% to 8.215, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was up 6.16% to settle at 5.72 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which gained 4.39% to close at 0.756.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (PA:ORP) which was down 20.35% to 55.18 in late trade, Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which lost 4.80% to settle at 22.62 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 4.60% to 47.53 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 297 to 290 and 70 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orpea SA (PA:ORP) fell to 5-year lows; down 20.35% or 14.10 to 55.18. Shares in Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.80% or 1.14 to 22.62.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.45% or 8.35 to $1850.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.22% or 1.85 to hit $85.16 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.76% or 1.50 to trade at $86.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1287, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8364.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 96.060.
