Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.67%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which rose 3.08% or 1.45 points to trade at 48.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) added 3.07% or 0.55 points to end at 18.61 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was up 3.00% or 0.70 points to 23.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP), which fell 1.61% or 2.66 points to trade at 162.16 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 1.61% or 2.25 points to end at 137.30 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was down 0.85% or 0.62 points to 72.02.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which rose 8.28% to 1.96, Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which was up 3.83% to settle at 54.20 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which gained 3.48% to close at 6.40.
The worst performers were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was down 2.02% to 0.76 in late trade, Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) which lost 1.61% to settle at 162.16 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) which was down 1.61% to 137.30 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 281 to 228 and 102 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.74% or 14.40 to $1,968.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.21% or 0.19 to hit $90.67 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.02 to trade at $94.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 104.37.
