Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.67%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which rose 5.61% or 1.18 points to trade at 22.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) added 2.69% or 0.52 points to end at 19.69 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was up 2.31% or 5.50 points to 244.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR), which fell 0.59% or 0.060 points to trade at 10.080 at the close. BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) declined 0.55% or 0.23 points to end at 40.33 and Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) was down 0.54% or 0.55 points to 101.55.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which rose 5.61% to 22.23, Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) which was up 2.69% to settle at 19.69 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) which gained 2.31% to close at 244.10.
The worst performers were Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which was down 2.56% to 12.54 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which lost 2.14% to settle at 2.379 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) which was down 1.54% to 36.43 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 306 to 239 and 105 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tarkett (PA:TKTT) fell to all time lows; down 2.56% or 0.33 to 12.54.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.20% to 19.16.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.00% or 15.35 to $1552.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.39% or 0.21 to hit $53.85 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $58.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1096, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.9024.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 97.882.
