Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.66%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 4.86% or 1.93 points to trade at 41.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) added 3.71% or 1.20 points to end at 33.58 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was up 2.15% or 5.25 points to 249.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orange SA (EPA:ORAN), which fell 3.01% or 0.29 points to trade at 9.41 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) declined 2.57% or 0.78 points to end at 29.62 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was down 2.19% or 2.25 points to 100.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which rose 8.16% to 43.33, X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which was up 8.06% to settle at 4.59 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which gained 6.19% to close at 0.84.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 31.52% to 0.34 in late trade, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which lost 3.27% to settle at 133.20 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) which was down 3.01% to 9.41 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 289 to 218 and 75 ended unchanged.
Shares in Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.15% or 5.25 to 249.10.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.26% or 6.84 to $2,674.74 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.83% or 0.58 to hit $69.36 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.51 to trade at $73.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 106.16.
