Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.66%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 2.43% or 0.35 points to trade at 14.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) added 2.17% or 0.77 points to end at 36.00 and Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) was up 2.08% or 0.75 points to 36.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which fell 1.74% or 0.39 points to trade at 22.01 at the close. Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) declined 1.68% or 1.85 points to end at 108.10 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) was down 1.13% or 0.74 points to 64.68.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were GTT (PA:GTT) which rose 3.71% to 90.85, Imerys SA (PA:IMTP) which was up 3.42% to settle at 36.88 and Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which gained 3.01% to close at 8.055.
The worst performers were Quadient SA (PA:QDT) which was down 4.62% to 19.00 in late trade, Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which lost 2.74% to settle at 45.43 and DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 2.48% to 15.700 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 285 to 271 and 108 ended unchanged.
Shares in Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 2.43% or 0.35 to 14.98.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 0.12% to 15.91.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.96% or 29.55 to $1476.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.43% or 0.80 to hit $55.11 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.52% or 0.93 to trade at $60.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.0903, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 99.032.
