Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.65%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.97% or 0.596 points to trade at 15.606 at the close. Meanwhile, Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) added 2.78% or 0.89 points to end at 32.90 and Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) was up 2.72% or 2.50 points to 94.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 1.59% or 2.05 points to trade at 127.00 at the close. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) declined 1.39% or 1.55 points to end at 110.00 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 0.76% or 0.10 points to 13.77.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which rose 3.97% to 15.606, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was up 3.29% to settle at 23.84 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which gained 2.94% to close at 9.020.
The worst performers were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 2.36% to 18.220 in late trade, Neopost SA (PA:NPOS) which lost 1.77% to settle at 18.33 and Iliad (PA:ILD) which was down 1.77% to 94.30 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 280 to 263 and 100 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.72% or 2.50 to 94.30.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.54% to 12.62.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.00% or 0.05 to $1413.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.01% or 1.20 to hit $58.38 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.64% or 1.09 to trade at $65.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.1217, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.9030.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 96.912.
