Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.63% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 3.49% or 1.12 points to trade at 33.22 at the close. Meanwhile, EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) added 2.49% or 4.00 points to end at 164.84 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 2.07% or 0.26 points to 12.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI), which fell 1.47% or 1.62 points to trade at 108.54 at the close. Danone SA (PA:DANO) declined 1.00% or 0.58 points to end at 57.54 and Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) was down 0.48% or 0.95 points to 197.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which rose 9.67% to 9.30, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was up 6.70% to settle at 7.720 and Albioma SA (PA:ABIO) which gained 6.17% to close at 34.08.
The worst performers were Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which was down 5.44% to 18.93 in late trade, La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (PA:FDJ) which lost 3.80% to settle at 42.76 and Wendel (PA:MWDP) which was down 3.05% to 117.60 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 347 to 254 and 88 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.62% or 29.20 to $1768.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.08% or 0.88 to hit $82.19 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.95% or 0.80 to trade at $84.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.00% to 1.1594, while EUR/GBP fell 0.57% to 0.8429.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 94.007.
