Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.62%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY), which rose 2.56% or 0.74 points to trade at 29.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale (PA:SOGN) added 2.14% or 0.70 points to end at 33.40 and Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA) was up 1.78% or 0.081 points to 4.642 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Accor SA (PA:ACCP), which fell 2.04% or 0.80 points to trade at 38.10 at the close. Technip (PA:TECF) declined 1.88% or 0.88 points to end at 45.85 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was down 1.74% or 1.43 points to 80.75.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which rose 7.99% to 30.020, Gemalto (AS:GTO) which was up 3.94% to settle at 55.14 and Spie SA (PA:SPIE) which gained 3.87% to close at 17.845.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications (PA:ETL) which was down 27.56% to 19.80 in late trade, Bollore SA (PA:BOLL) which lost 8.11% to settle at 3.08 and SES (PA:SESFd) which was down 8.06% to 21.97 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 331 to 319 and 106 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 7.99% or 2.220 to 30.020. Shares in Eutelsat Communications (PA:ETL) fell to 5-year lows; down 27.56% or 7.53 to 19.80. Shares in Bollore SA (PA:BOLL) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.11% or 0.27 to 3.08. Shares in SES (PA:SESFd) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.06% or 1.93 to 21.97.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.91% to 21.09.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.04% or 0.45 to $1271.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.07% or 0.50 to hit $46.20 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.56% or 0.27 to trade at $47.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.1292, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.7861.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 94.73.
