Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.62% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF), which rose 3.41% or 9.20 points to trade at 278.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) added 3.07% or 2.60 points to end at 87.29 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was up 3.08% or 4.60 points to 154.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 7.81% or 4.04 points to trade at 47.68 at the close. Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) declined 4.54% or 0.74 points to end at 15.47 and Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) was down 3.36% or 1.50 points to 43.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which rose 19.44% to 4.21, Lagardere SCA (PA:LAGA) which was up 6.12% to settle at 20.64 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which gained 5.01% to close at 314.60.
The worst performers were Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which was down 8.04% to 16.30 in late trade, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which lost 7.81% to settle at 47.68 and Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) which was down 5.58% to 32.48 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 356 to 224 and 80 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 7.55% to 23.07.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.87% or 16.30 to $1860.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.03% or 0.84 to hit $42.20 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.77% or 0.77 to trade at $44.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.1758, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 93.140.
