Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.62%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 3.41% or 0.73 points to trade at 22.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) added 2.71% or 2.30 points to end at 87.06 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) was up 2.31% or 9.05 points to 400.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 4.20% or 1.35 points to trade at 30.76 at the close. Safran SA (PA:SAF) declined 3.57% or 3.18 points to end at 85.80 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) was down 2.37% or 0.77 points to 31.45.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Alten SA (PA:LTEN) which rose 9.43% to 76.00, Accor SA (PA:ACCP) which was up 4.27% to settle at 22.95 and Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) which gained 4.14% to close at 21.62.
The worst performers were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 6.03% to 0.561 in late trade, Orpea SA (PA:ORP) which lost 4.90% to settle at 90.44 and Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which was down 4.67% to 28.58 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 312 to 251 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in CGG SA (PA:GEPH) fell to all time lows; falling 6.03% or 0.036 to 0.561.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.50% to 26.19.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.97% or 37.60 to $1870.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.80% or 0.32 to hit $40.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.67% or 0.28 to trade at $42.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1681, while EUR/GBP fell 0.38% to 0.9157.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 94.237.
