Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.60%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (PA:SASY), which rose 3.21% or 2.95 points to trade at 94.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 2.23% or 0.30 points to end at 13.67 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was up 2.02% or 0.81 points to 40.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 2.74% or 1.15 points to trade at 41.06 at the close. Worldline SA (PA:WLN) declined 2.48% or 1.07 points to end at 42.00 and Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) was down 2.29% or 0.74 points to 31.59.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) which rose 3.96% to 14.69, Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) which was up 3.21% to settle at 94.89 and SCOR SE (PA:SCOR) which gained 2.63% to close at 30.03.
The worst performers were Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was down 11.19% to 5.20 in late trade, Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which lost 10.65% to settle at 19.05 and Orpea SA (PA:ORP) which was down 9.44% to 39.54 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 309 to 242 and 91 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 2.09% or 38.15 to $1791.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.22% or 0.19 to hit $87.16 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.12 to trade at $88.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.87% to 1.1139, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8329.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.89% at 97.257.
