Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.55%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Atos SE (PA:ATOS), which rose 9.87% or 6.28 points to trade at 69.88 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 8.60% or 1.590 points to end at 20.070 and Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) was up 1.95% or 12.20 points to 637.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which fell 10.80% or 2.27 points to trade at 18.75 at the close. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) declined 1.94% or 2.00 points to end at 101.20 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was down 1.59% or 7.65 points to 472.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which rose 9.87% to 69.88, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) which was up 8.60% to settle at 20.070 and SCOR SE (PA:SCOR) which gained 3.60% to close at 38.23.
The worst performers were Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which was down 37.11% to 3.05 in late trade, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which lost 10.80% to settle at 18.75 and Alten SA (PA:LTEN) which was down 5.28% to 95.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 277 to 273 and 102 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.60% or 1.590 to 20.070. Shares in Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) fell to all time lows; down 37.11% or 1.80 to 3.05. Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.60% or 1.590 to 20.070.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.70% to 13.28 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.53% or 7.95 to $1503.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.88% or 0.49 to hit $56.46 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.10% or 0.67 to trade at $61.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1107, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8643.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 97.425.
