Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.48%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which rose 3.28% or 1.35 points to trade at 42.45 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 3.02% or 1.21 points to end at 41.24 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) was up 2.65% or 1.54 points to 59.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which fell 5.32% or 0.95 points to trade at 16.92 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (PA:TTEF) declined 1.99% or 1.02 points to end at 50.22 and Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) was down 1.60% or 1.51 points to 92.75.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which rose 9.47% to 6.93, Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which was up 5.03% to settle at 16.50 and Albioma SA (PA:ABIO) which gained 4.47% to close at 34.58.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) which was down 13.81% to 19.59 in late trade, Orpea SA (PA:ORP) which lost 7.35% to settle at 38.80 and Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which was down 6.55% to 19.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 334 to 236 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) fell to 52-week lows; down 13.81% or 3.14 to 19.59. Shares in Orpea SA (PA:ORP) fell to 5-year lows; down 7.35% or 3.08 to 38.80.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.63% or 11.20 to $1796.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.12% or 0.97 to hit $87.79 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.86% or 0.76 to trade at $89.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.68% to 1.1219, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8349.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 96.720.
