Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.48%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 3.01% or 1.94 points to trade at 66.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) added 2.45% or 5.10 points to end at 213.00 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was up 1.92% or 0.94 points to 49.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 0.97% or 0.26 points to trade at 26.07 at the close. Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) declined 0.76% or 0.66 points to end at 86.65 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was down 0.67% or 0.10 points to 15.69.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) which rose 13.43% to 212.00, Valneva (PA:VLS) which was up 6.80% to settle at 23.860 and Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which gained 6.53% to close at 22.50.
The worst performers were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was down 1.79% to 5.61 in late trade, Faurecia (PA:EPED) which lost 1.60% to settle at 43.57 and Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which was down 1.55% to 27.24 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 345 to 243 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) rose to all time highs; rising 2.45% or 5.10 to 213.00. Shares in Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) rose to all time highs; up 13.43% or 25.10 to 212.00. Shares in Valneva (PA:VLS) rose to all time highs; gaining 6.80% or 1.520 to 23.860.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.31% or 5.45 to $1789.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.37% or 0.29 to hit $78.10 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $82.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1212, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.8414.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 96.745.
