Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.47%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF), which rose 3.80% or 8.80 points to trade at 240.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) added 3.78% or 5.85 points to end at 160.65 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was up 2.29% or 0.60 points to 26.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Accor SA (PA:ACCP), which fell 2.64% or 0.64 points to trade at 23.56 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) declined 1.89% or 0.52 points to end at 26.99 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was down 1.83% or 0.62 points to 33.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which rose 6.01% to 4.94, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which was up 4.94% to settle at 284.60 and Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) which gained 3.80% to close at 240.40.
The worst performers were Natixis (PA:CNAT) which was down 7.43% to 2.34 in late trade, Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) which lost 2.89% to settle at 134.30 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) which was down 2.64% to 23.56 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 305 to 252 and 100 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) rose to all time highs; up 4.94% or 13.40 to 284.60.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 5.20% to 24.01 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.40% or 7.30 to $1817.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.42% or 0.17 to hit $40.92 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.17 to trade at $43.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1439, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.9042.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.808.
