Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.45% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE), which rose 4.45% or 1.29 points to trade at 30.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) added 2.34% or 1.24 points to end at 54.33 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was up 2.23% or 0.94 points to 43.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP), which fell 1.95% or 1.14 points to trade at 57.26 at the close. BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) declined 1.74% or 1.04 points to end at 58.84 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was down 1.37% or 0.71 points to 51.29.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Derichebourg (PA:DBG) which rose 5.06% to 10.59, Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) which was up 4.45% to settle at 30.27 and Orpea SA (PA:ORP) which gained 3.87% to close at 95.66.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was down 5.23% to 7.53 in late trade, Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which lost 4.91% to settle at 8.62 and SES (PA:SESFd) which was down 3.63% to 7.59 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 335 to 290 and 69 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.66% or 29.25 to $1793.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.21% or 0.17 to hit $80.69 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.26 to trade at $82.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.1545, while EUR/GBP rose 0.89% to 0.8558.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 94.362.
