Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.44%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLA), which rose 3.84% or 0.46 points to trade at 12.48 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 3.82% or 1.86 points to end at 50.36 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 3.41% or 1.46 points to 44.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which fell 3.91% or 13.45 points to trade at 330.45 at the close. Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) declined 1.43% or 15.50 points to end at 1,070.00 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was down 1.36% or 0.15 points to 10.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) which rose 8.46% to 16.29, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was up 6.11% to settle at 13.54 and Electricite de France SA (EPA:EDF) which gained 5.64% to close at 9.56.
The worst performers were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) which was down 3.91% to 330.45 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which lost 2.94% to settle at 41.94 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 2.18% to 16.44 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 354 to 182 and 92 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.09% or 1.55 to $1,741.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.84% or 1.89 to hit $104.62 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.23% or 2.33 to trade at $106.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 106.88.
