Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.43%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.38%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 1.98% or 0.555 points to trade at 28.600 at the close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) added 1.82% or 0.98 points to end at 54.68 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 1.60% or 0.190 points to 12.080 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 1.30% or 2.50 points to trade at 189.60 at the close. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) declined 0.86% or 1.00 points to end at 115.45 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was down 0.71% or 0.59 points to 82.91.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications (PA:ETL) which rose 3.06% to 17.86, Natixis (PA:CNAT) which was up 2.64% to settle at 6.446 and Wendel (PA:MWDP) which gained 2.24% to close at 118.80.

The worst performers were Eramet (PA:ERMT) which was down 7.04% to 128.00 in late trade, Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which lost 4.02% to settle at 33.440 and Bollore SA (PA:BOLL) which was down 2.89% to 4.032 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 335 to 242 and 92 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 5.25% to 12.26.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.14% or 1.80 to $1304.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.52% or 0.34 to hit $66.08 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $76.44 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1785, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8810.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.58.
