Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.42%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which rose 4.52% or 2.14 points to trade at 49.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) added 2.10% or 0.33 points to end at 16.21 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.98% or 0.47 points to 24.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orange SA (EPA:ORAN), which fell 1.41% or 0.15 points to trade at 10.33 at the close. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 1.27% or 5.20 points to end at 402.90 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was down 1.14% or 1.08 points to 93.95.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which rose 32.50% to 117.00, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 5.18% to settle at 14.22 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) which gained 4.52% to close at 49.48.
The worst performers were Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was down 1.99% to 33.50 in late trade, Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) which lost 1.41% to settle at 10.33 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) which was down 1.27% to 402.90 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 317 to 205 and 96 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.92% or 17.55 to $1,932.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.14% or 1.54 to hit $73.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.86% or 1.42 to trade at $77.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.76% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.92% at 101.92.
