Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.38%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which rose 1.89% or 1.78 points to trade at 95.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) added 1.80% or 0.49 points to end at 27.70 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 1.66% or 2.90 points to 177.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS), which fell 1.38% or 26.40 points to trade at 1,885.80 at the close. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 1.35% or 5.60 points to end at 408.35 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) was down 0.75% or 0.44 points to 58.52.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which rose 7.43% to 133.00, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was up 4.21% to settle at 1.86 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which gained 2.92% to close at 26.78.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 9.99% to 2.83 in late trade, Mercialys SA (EPA:MERY) which lost 1.84% to settle at 8.25 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 1.79% to 1.56 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 286 to 223 and 107 ended unchanged.
Shares in Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) fell to all time lows; falling 9.99% or 0.31 to 2.83.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.29% or 25.25 to $1,981.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.00% or 1.48 to hit $75.56 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.62% or 1.27 to trade at $79.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 99.76.
