Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.38%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB), which rose 4.16% or 1.33 points to trade at 33.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Safran SA (PA:SAF) added 3.61% or 3.16 points to end at 90.72 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was up 2.79% or 0.70 points to 25.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (PA:WLN), which fell 2.70% or 1.76 points to trade at 63.42 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) declined 2.03% or 0.54 points to end at 26.00 and Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) was down 1.70% or 13.80 points to 795.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Groupe FNAC (PA:FNAC) which rose 8.40% to 36.66, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was up 6.76% to settle at 0.480 and TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which gained 4.97% to close at 4.68.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 6.72% to 76.40 in late trade, Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) which lost 2.94% to settle at 145.50 and Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which was down 2.73% to 199.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 329 to 244 and 75 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.63% to 32.93.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.69% or 12.80 to $1880.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.18% or 0.79 to hit $35.38 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.65% or 0.63 to trade at $37.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1648, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.9006.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 94.047.
