Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.37%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor SA (EPA:ACCP), which rose 4.77% or 2.10 points to trade at 46.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 4.30% or 1.06 points to end at 25.62 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 3.77% or 0.46 points to 12.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Safran SA (EPA:SAF), which fell 7.31% or 16.70 points to trade at 211.90 at the close. Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) declined 0.60% or 0.58 points to end at 95.78 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was down 0.55% or 12.00 points to 2,188.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which rose 12.51% to 85.00, X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which was up 6.32% to settle at 4.88 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which gained 5.91% to close at 7.42.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 38.05% to 0.21 in late trade, Safran SA (EPA:SAF) which lost 7.31% to settle at 211.90 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 5.18% to 1.83 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 276 to 223 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.77% or 2.10 to 46.10.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.66% or 17.71 to $2,658.49 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $68.45 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $72.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 105.82.
