Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.36% to hit a new 5-year high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV), which rose 2.46% or 0.69 points to trade at 28.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) added 2.04% or 1.04 points to end at 52.08 and Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) was up 2.03% or 6.60 points to 331.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 1.83% or 0.66 points to trade at 35.10 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.54% or 0.19 points to end at 12.26 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was down 1.50% or 1.50 points to 98.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which rose 3.20% to 41.32, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which was up 3.01% to settle at 373.60 and DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which gained 2.68% to close at 9.96.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was down 4.93% to 5.05 in late trade, Renault SA (PA:RENA) which lost 1.83% to settle at 35.10 and CNP Assurances SA (PA:CNPP) which was down 1.58% to 16.50 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 323 to 268 and 77 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.03% or 6.60 to 331.80.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.66% or 11.45 to $1744.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.11% or 0.66 to hit $60.36 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.04% or 0.66 to trade at $63.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.1939, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8688.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 91.918.
