Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.36%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which rose 13.13% or 2.03 points to trade at 17.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) added 3.55% or 9.70 points to end at 282.70 and Orange SA (PA:ORAN) was up 2.55% or 0.26 points to 10.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 2.90% or 1.07 points to trade at 35.83 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 2.14% or 1.34 points to end at 61.16 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.67% or 0.34 points to 20.01.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) which rose 13.13% to 17.50, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was up 6.52% to settle at 84.34 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) which gained 4.58% to close at 28.75.
The worst performers were Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which was down 7.53% to 215.00 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which lost 3.82% to settle at 28.575 and Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which was down 3.63% to 13.28 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 324 to 265 and 84 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.76% or 14.00 to $1858.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.23% or 0.12 to hit $53.33 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $56.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.2162, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.8918.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 90.297.
