Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.36%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.73% or 0.346 points to trade at 13.014 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) added 2.49% or 0.85 points to end at 35.23 and Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) was up 2.45% or 0.86 points to 36.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which fell 0.98% or 0.14 points to trade at 14.62 at the close. Accor SA (PA:ACCP) declined 0.60% or 0.23 points to end at 38.14 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was down 0.45% or 0.54 points to 119.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which rose 3.94% to 30.10, Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) which was up 3.78% to settle at 25.23 and Arkema SA (PA:AKE) which gained 3.70% to close at 85.18.
The worst performers were Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which was down 1.90% to 206.00 in late trade, Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which lost 1.76% to settle at 7.820 and Metropole Television SA (PA:MMTP) which was down 1.51% to 15.03 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 251 and 96 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.29% to 15.93.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.37% or 5.65 to $1509.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.19% or 0.67 to hit $55.74 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.82% or 1.14 to trade at $61.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0945, while EUR/GBP rose 0.32% to 0.8891.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 98.730.
