Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.32% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP), which rose 2.16% or 0.35 points to trade at 16.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (PA:PRTP) added 2.11% or 12.20 points to end at 589.20 and Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) was up 1.93% or 1.68 points to 88.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which fell 3.20% or 0.47 points to trade at 14.06 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) declined 2.58% or 1.84 points to end at 69.48 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was down 2.55% or 0.63 points to 24.05.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 7.01% to 19.600, Groupe FNAC (PA:FNAC) which was up 3.94% to settle at 36.38 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which gained 3.62% to close at 0.670.
The worst performers were Faurecia (PA:EPED) which was down 6.59% to 39.70 in late trade, Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) which lost 3.20% to settle at 14.06 and Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was down 3.04% to 4.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 284 to 279 and 89 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.22% to 22.12.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.17% or 3.35 to $1967.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.01% or 1.12 to hit $38.38 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.55% or 1.01 to trade at $40.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1853, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.9194.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.082.
