Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.30%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Atos SE (PA:ATOS), which rose 2.52% or 1.76 points to trade at 71.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) added 2.07% or 0.38 points to end at 18.73 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was up 1.97% or 0.60 points to 31.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO), which fell 2.62% or 1.14 points to trade at 42.36 at the close. Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) declined 2.09% or 0.29 points to end at 13.84 and Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) was down 1.96% or 3.15 points to 157.75.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which rose 3.67% to 34.15, La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (PA:FDJ) which was up 3.56% to settle at 35.74 and Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) which gained 2.97% to close at 35.34.
The worst performers were Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which was down 3.02% to 70.25 in late trade, Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) which lost 2.62% to settle at 42.36 and Lagardere SCA (PA:LAGA) which was down 2.42% to 19.77 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 321 to 248 and 94 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.97% or 0.60 to 31.00. Shares in La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (PA:FDJ) rose to all time highs; up 3.56% or 1.23 to 35.74.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 0.58% to 22.19.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.60% or 11.15 to $1872.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.05% or 0.02 to hit $41.92 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.41% or 0.18 to trade at $44.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1854, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8922.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 92.380.
