Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.30%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which rose 4.25% or 4.86 points to trade at 119.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) added 4.25% or 6.90 points to end at 169.35 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was up 2.01% or 2.55 points to 129.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (PA:TCFP), which fell 3.31% or 3.37 points to trade at 98.48 at the close. Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) declined 2.39% or 0.37 points to end at 15.10 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) was down 1.85% or 0.65 points to 34.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) which rose 6.42% to 126.00, Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) which was up 4.25% to settle at 169.35 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) which gained 4.25% to close at 119.22.
The worst performers were Quadient SA (PA:QDT) which was down 4.35% to 18.03 in late trade, Thales (PA:TCFP) which lost 3.31% to settle at 98.48 and GTT (PA:GTT) which was down 3.24% to 82.25 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 339 to 215 and 94 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.02% to 20.26 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.37% or 5.65 to $1513.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.04% or 0.55 to hit $52.09 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.27 to trade at $57.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.0983, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8874.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 98.450.
