Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.26%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which rose 2.56% or 0.57 points to trade at 22.82 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 2.49% or 0.370 points to end at 15.214 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was up 2.15% or 0.350 points to 16.665 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 1.56% or 2.00 points to trade at 126.00 at the close. Thales (PA:TCFP) declined 0.92% or 0.95 points to end at 102.65 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was down 0.81% or 1.10 points to 134.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 5.16% to 2.509, Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which was up 3.19% to settle at 26.83 and ALD SA (PA:ALDA) which gained 3.13% to close at 13.16.
The worst performers were Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which was down 4.66% to 8.485 in late trade, Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) which lost 3.42% to settle at 129.80 and Technicolor (PA:TCH) which was down 2.62% to 0.725 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 284 to 273 and 105 ended unchanged.
Shares in WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) fell to 5-year lows; losing 1.56% or 2.00 to 126.00. Shares in Technicolor (PA:TCH) fell to all time lows; down 2.62% or 0.019 to 0.725.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 4.78% to 13.97.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.05% or 0.65 to $1426.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.20% or 0.67 to hit $56.30 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.46% or 0.91 to trade at $63.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1218, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8989.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 96.903.
