Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.25% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which rose 3.51% or 3.47 points to trade at 102.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) added 2.82% or 0.32 points to end at 11.68 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 2.43% or 0.47 points to 19.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP), which fell 1.38% or 4.30 points to trade at 307.40 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) declined 1.33% or 7.20 points to end at 532.20 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was down 1.22% or 0.18 points to 14.54.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Fnac Darty SA (PA:FNAC) which rose 10.22% to 52.00, Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was up 5.32% to settle at 7.32 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which gained 5.30% to close at 5.41.
The worst performers were Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which was down 3.98% to 47.10 in late trade, Albioma SA (PA:ABIO) which lost 3.80% to settle at 40.50 and Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) which was down 3.54% to 11.32 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 350 to 245 and 72 ended unchanged.
Shares in Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) fell to all time lows; losing 3.54% or 0.41 to 11.32.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.68% or 12.30 to $1793.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.12% or 1.31 to hit $62.98 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.36% or 1.52 to trade at $66.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.2122, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8595.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 90.340.
