Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.21% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.18% or 0.69 points to trade at 22.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) added 2.10% or 0.30 points to end at 14.60 and Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) was up 1.97% or 1.76 points to 91.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 2.78% or 4.95 points to trade at 173.15 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) declined 1.88% or 0.57 points to end at 29.70 and Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) was down 1.57% or 4.80 points to 300.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Metropole Television SA (PA:MMTP) which rose 6.99% to 19.28, Spie SA (PA:SPIE) which was up 4.38% to settle at 20.48 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) which gained 3.55% to close at 27.43.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was down 4.45% to 9.99 in late trade, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which lost 3.24% to settle at 1.253 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) which was down 2.78% to 173.15 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 294 to 284 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.18% or 0.69 to 22.38. Shares in Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.97% or 1.76 to 91.14. Shares in Metropole Television SA (PA:MMTP) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.99% or 1.26 to 19.28. Shares in Spie SA (PA:SPIE) rose to 3-years highs; rising 4.38% or 0.86 to 20.48.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.01% or 0.25 to $1722.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.67% or 0.44 to hit $65.58 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.44 to trade at $69.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1952, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8587.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 91.683.
