Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.20%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 3.21% or 2.06 points to trade at 66.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) added 2.74% or 0.69 points to end at 25.87 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was up 2.24% or 2.24 points to 102.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH), which fell 2.09% or 11.90 points to trade at 556.60 at the close. Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) declined 1.94% or 20.50 points to end at 1,034.50 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 1.82% or 0.35 points to 19.11.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which rose 6.75% to 13.60, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 5.70% to settle at 24.86 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which gained 3.23% to close at 18.83.
The worst performers were Coface (EPA:COFA) which was down 3.22% to 10.52 in late trade, Maisons du Monde SAS (EPA:MDM) which lost 2.26% to settle at 16.84 and Trigano SA (EPA:TRIA) which was down 2.12% to 115.30 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 336 to 210 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.75% or 0.86 to 13.60.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.07% or 1.35 to $1,839.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.08% or 0.09 to hit $109.80 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.20 to trade at $111.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 103.14.
