Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.19% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (PA:SAF), which rose 3.59% or 4.95 points to trade at 142.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) added 2.98% or 0.64 points to end at 22.10 and Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) was up 1.42% or 9.20 points to 655.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which fell 2.99% or 0.71 points to trade at 23.02 at the close. Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) declined 2.74% or 2.85 points to end at 101.30 and Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) was down 1.03% or 1.04 points to 99.86.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which rose 3.70% to 18.510, Safran SA (PA:SAF) which was up 3.59% to settle at 142.95 and Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) which gained 2.98% to close at 22.10.
The worst performers were Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) which was down 5.36% to 88.25 in late trade, Iliad (PA:ILD) which lost 3.36% to settle at 81.18 and TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was down 2.99% to 23.02 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 307 to 250 and 105 ended unchanged.
Shares in Safran SA (PA:SAF) rose to all time highs; up 3.59% or 4.95 to 142.95. Shares in Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) rose to all time highs; rising 1.42% or 9.20 to 655.20. Shares in Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.36% or 5.00 to 88.25. Shares in Safran SA (PA:SAF) rose to all time highs; rising 3.59% or 4.95 to 142.95. Shares in Iliad (PA:ILD) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.36% or 2.82 to 81.18.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 6.06% to 14.25 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.90 to $1526.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $56.31 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.51% or 0.31 to trade at $61.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1036, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8979.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 98.315.
