Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.18%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN), which rose 2.44% or 0.64 points to trade at 26.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) added 2.21% or 1.20 points to end at 55.40 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 2.17% or 2.46 points to 115.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which fell 1.31% or 0.16 points to trade at 12.21 at the close. Danone SA (PA:DANO) declined 1.19% or 0.75 points to end at 62.35 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was down 1.14% or 0.19 points to 16.87.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (PA:VLS) which rose 5.77% to 14.300, Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was up 3.92% to settle at 6.09 and CNP Assurances SA (PA:CNPP) which gained 2.80% to close at 14.71.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was down 2.27% to 7.54 in late trade, ICADE (PA:ICAD) which lost 1.71% to settle at 71.80 and DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 1.64% to 8.73 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 334 to 231 and 110 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.98% or 17.80 to $1790.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.52% or 0.35 to hit $67.89 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.44 to trade at $70.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1757, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8568.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 92.970.
