Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.14%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 2.65% or 1.38 points to trade at 53.51 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 1.58% or 1.56 points to end at 100.00 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was up 1.47% or 0.26 points to 17.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which fell 2.91% or 1.34 points to trade at 44.51 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) declined 2.61% or 0.96 points to end at 36.04 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was down 2.46% or 4.00 points to 158.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which rose 3.70% to 0.67, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 2.92% to settle at 12.87 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) which gained 2.65% to close at 53.51.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 7.38% to 1.95 in late trade, SES (EPA:SESFd) which lost 4.01% to settle at 5.55 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which was down 3.44% to 162.80 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 305 to 229 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) fell to all time lows; down 7.38% or 0.16 to 1.95.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.81% or 16.05 to $1,987.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.41% or 1.03 to hit $73.84 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.16% or 0.90 to trade at $78.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 102.11.
