Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.14%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which rose 1.66% or 0.94 points to trade at 57.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 1.31% or 0.16 points to end at 12.41 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was up 1.26% or 0.36 points to 28.89 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 2.18% or 1.50 points to trade at 67.43 at the close. Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) declined 2.06% or 0.72 points to end at 34.28 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.49% or 0.41 points to 26.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which rose 2.35% to 20.88, Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which was up 1.86% to settle at 32.86 and Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which gained 1.78% to close at 81.96.
The worst performers were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was down 5.55% to 6.53 in late trade, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which lost 5.53% to settle at 0.858 and Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which was down 4.77% to 63.90 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 316 to 251 and 83 ended unchanged.
Shares in Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.35% or 0.48 to 20.88.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.15% or 2.70 to $1825.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 3.28% or 2.17 to hit $63.91 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.90% or 2.01 to trade at $67.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.2069, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8602.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 90.785.
