Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.12%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which rose 2.67% or 3.65 points to trade at 140.30 at the close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) added 2.51% or 1.40 points to end at 57.23 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 2.37% or 1.15 points to 49.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which fell 3.21% or 13.60 points to trade at 410.10 at the close. Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) declined 1.95% or 37.20 points to end at 1,872.00 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) was down 1.84% or 15.50 points to 829.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) which rose 5.04% to 30.24, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was up 4.26% to settle at 5.14 and ICADE (EPA:ICAD) which gained 3.88% to close at 43.42.
The worst performers were Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was down 3.83% to 38.12 in late trade, Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which lost 3.38% to settle at 68.60 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) which was down 3.21% to 410.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 224 and 99 ended unchanged.
Shares in Thales (EPA:TCFP) rose to all time highs; up 2.67% or 3.65 to 140.30.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.39% or 7.90 to $2,027.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.22% or 0.18 to hit $80.43 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.16 to trade at $84.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 101.47.
